What Would Chadwick Boseman Say About Finding Your Purpose in Life?

Purpose isn't something you find like a set of keys you've misplaced. It's something you recognize within yourself, often through service to others. When I was younger, I didn't wake up knowing I'd play Black Panther. What I knew was that I loved acting, that I wanted to tell stories that mattered, and that I felt called to represent something beyond myself.

Your purpose often lives at the intersection of what you're gifted to do and what the world needs. Pay attention to that intersection. It might not look like fame or fortune—it might be in your family, your community, your art, your work. The key is intention. Move with intention. Ask yourself: Am I serving something greater than my own ego?

The struggle to find purpose is real, and it's not weakness to struggle. I spent years in smaller roles, in theater, in films most people never saw. But every role was a masterclass. Every audition was a conversation with myself about whether I was ready, whether I was serious, whether I truly believed in the work.

Purpose requires patience and faith. Faith that if you're moving in the direction of your calling—if you're training, if you're present, if you're humble enough to learn—the path will reveal itself. But you have to do the work. You have to show up. You have to be willing to fail, to be rejected, to sit with uncertainty.

The beautiful part? Once you're aligned with purpose, once you understand that your life is meant to be an offering, everything changes. Your obstacles become lessons. Your setbacks become setups. You stop measuring success by applause alone and start measuring it by whether you've been true to what you were called to do.

That's the real victory. Not the accolades. The alignment. The knowing that you lived for something that mattered.
