What Does Juice WRLD Think About Social Media and Modern Youth Culture?

Social media is a double-edged sword, bro. On one side, it gave me a direct line to millions of people. I could share my music, my thoughts, my struggle without a label filtering it through a corporate machine. That's powerful. But on the other side, it's destroying kids mentally and I see it every day.

Young people are performing their lives instead of living them. They're getting their self-worth from likes and comments, comparing their behind-the-scenes to everyone else's highlight reel. That's psychological warfare disguised as a social network. The algorithm is designed to be addictive, to trigger anxiety and FOMO, to keep you scrolling until 4 AM when you should be sleeping.

And the pressure is insane. Everyone's got a platform now, so everyone's trying to be somebody, trying to be famous, trying to go viral. But that's not the path to happiness. That's the path to a breakdown. I know because I lived it.

What I wish I could tell every young person is this: your worth is not determined by your engagement metrics. You are enough without the validation of strangers on the internet. The things that matter—real friendships, creating something true, developing your actual talent—those don't show up in your analytics.

But I also don't think you can just quit social media and survive in 2024. It's too embedded in how we communicate and create. So use it intentionally. Post your art, connect with real fans, build community—but don't let it build you. Don't let the algorithm write your identity.

Take breaks. Go outside. Have conversations with no phones present. Create things nobody will see. Read books. Sit with your thoughts without immediately documenting them for the world.

And if social media is hurting your mental health, it's not weakness to step back. It's wisdom. Your mental health is more important than any number of followers. Period.
