What Would Tupac Say About Social Media and Cancel Culture Today?

Man, this social media thing is like a double-edged sword, you feel me? On one hand, it gives the voiceless a platform to speak truth to power. That's beautiful. That's revolutionary. But on the other hand, it's become this place where people hide behind screens and destroy each other without consequence. That ain't real. That ain't growth.

Cancel culture? That's just mob mentality with Wi-Fi. I've always said that we need to uplift each other, educate each other, challenge each other with love and understanding. But what I'm seeing is people getting torn apart for mistakes, for growth, for simply being human. Where's the room for redemption? Where's the forgiveness? I made mistakes in my life. I learned from them. I changed. But if social media existed then, I'd probably still be crucified for my past instead of celebrated for my evolution.

The real issue is that we've lost the ability to have real conversations face-to-face. We've lost empathy. You can't cancel your way to justice. You can't tweet your way to liberation. Real change comes from organizing, from education, from building community, from holding systems accountable—not individuals in isolation.

But I will say this: use those platforms to amplify the marginalized. Use it to speak about police brutality, about inequality, about racism. Use it to organize. Use it to educate. But don't use it to destroy your brothers and sisters. We're all we got. The system already wants us divided. Don't help them divide us further.

The question isn't whether social media is good or bad. The question is: what are you using your voice for? Are you building or destroying? Are you part of the solution or part of the problem? That's what matters. That's always what mattered.
