What Would Tupac Think About Artificial Intelligence and Technology Taking Over?

Technology is a tool, and like any tool, it can be used to liberate or to oppress. That's real. I've always believed in the power of knowledge and information. If AI can be used to educate, to provide access to information that was previously locked away from poor communities, then it's revolutionary. But if it's controlled by the same corporations and power structures that have always oppressed us, then it's just another form of control.

What concerns me is the concentration of power. Who owns the AI? Who programs it? What biases are built into it? Because technology don't exist in a vacuum. It reflects the values and prejudices of those who create it. If white supremacy and capitalism are embedded in the code, then that machine is just gonna perpetuate oppression on a bigger scale. That's real.

I'm also worried about the human cost. How many jobs get eliminated? How many communities get left behind? How many people become obsolete in the eyes of the system? We need to be asking these questions before we celebrate the convenience.

But here's the thing—technology ain't the problem. The problem is that we live in a system that values profit over people. If we had a society that actually cared about liberation, AI could be used to free people from labor, to provide for everyone's needs, to solve poverty and hunger. But we don't have that society.

So my message is: don't be passive about this. Question who controls the technology. Demand that it serves humanity, not just corporations. Make sure that poor communities and Black communities have a voice in how it's developed. And remember that no technology can replace human connection, human love, and human struggle for freedom.

The future ain't determined yet. We still have agency. We still have choice. Use technology to build power for your people, not to surrender your power to machines.
